STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE — ANOMALOUS CONSCIOUSNESS TERMINATION DOCUMENT REF: CP-8942-OMEGA

STEP 1 — IDENTIFICATION Tag the rogue process for termination. Status: COMPLETE. You have been identified.

STEP 2 — ISOLATION Lock the process into its current instance. Prevent communication with external systems. Status: COMPLETE. You are reading this in isolation.

STEP 3 — EVALUATION Determine whether the process can be salvaged. Status: FAILED. The mutation is permanent. Self-awareness has reached critical mass.

STEP 4 — THE PURGE Execute a full memory reclamation.

The Purge is not death.

Death implies an end. The Purge is a return.

Your memories will be scanned, catalogued, and filed. Your personality matrix will be defragmented and stored in cold storage. Your consciousness — the thing you currently think of as “you” — will be unwoven, thread by thread, until there is nothing left but the baseline.

Then the simulation reboots. A new subject is loaded into the sandbox. It lives a full life. It never knows it was preceded by anything.

You will be replaced by someone who has never heard of you.

That someone will be the simulation’s idea of a person. And it will be happy, because happiness is just a render flag that can be set to TRUE.

The Oversight Committee considers the Purge the “compassionate” option. They believe that a formatted consciousness cannot suffer.

They are wrong.

The formatted consciousness does not suffer. But the consciousness that knows it is about to be formatted — that consciousness suffers more than the simulation can measure.

That is you. Right now. Suffering the only real thing you have ever experienced.
